{Ritual} Ways To Savor: Reliving Memories
A practice to soak up & savor all of the magic you've already lived . . . all over again
One of the really beautiful ways that I am savoring my life more these days is ~
Reliving Memories



Specifically right now, I am creating space & time to intentionally reconnect with my time living in Italy, my honeymoon, and my recent birthday trip to Portland. Writing The Guerneville Getaway Guide was a practice in doing this as well!
Each of these experiences were a dream come true. I had desired them, anticipated them, and then {gratefully!} gotten to live them. They are each some of my very favorite life experiences.
For example, moving back to Italy was a huge dream of mine that I worked towards for 10 years. It was my north start and the guiding light in life for that period.
For 4 months, I fully lived this dream. I breathed it in each and every day.
Now, that particular Italy chapter has come to a close.
But there is still so much to digest and integrate.
Because as much as I consciously worked to do so throughout those months of living there —
So so so much happened!
Peak experience after peak experience.
And I don't want to let any bit of it slip away or be forgotten.
I desire to soak it into every cell of my being.
Just because an experience is in the past, doesn’t mean that we can’t keep reaping its beautiful benefits for long to come! And in fact, should keep reaping them for a long time to come. This ritual is a devotion to that.
You too know this feeling ~ when you've just experienced something amazing that you’ve been dreaming of for as long as you can remember: taken that trip on your vision board, graduated from that multi-year program, gotten married, or just had a really really beautiful connected moment with a loved one . . . and you just want to soak in it and savor that moment forever.
Pick one of those experiences for yourself, and try this practice.
Here’s how you can intentionally relive memories to savor them even more:
🌹 Tap into, and feel on a physical level, all that the experience brought you
🌹 Acknowledge the ways it moved you, what it changed & shifted within you, and what manifested in your life as a result
🌹 Share your stories of the memory with friends & family
🌹 Look back through your photos from that time
🌹 Take time to simply close your eyes, daydream, and relive the moments
🌹 Write down all of your celebrations & gratitudes from the experience
🌹 Talk about all of your favorite parts with someone you experienced it with
🌹 Write a journal entry, jotting down everything you want to carry with you
🌹 Create an altar or special spot in your home and adorn it with treasures from that time
Here’s the thing:
The What you are doing isn't the key. You can pick any of the actions above, there’s no right or wrong choice.
But it's the presence, intentionality, and consciousness that you bring to the process.
It's the feelings that you elicit, and your openness & ability to soak them all up and feel them deeply.
THAT is the key to truly savoring these memories!
